It's all about the light. This photo was taken in the early evening and shows off some nice contrast between shadows and highlights. The colors are very vivid (credit goes to the camera, no post-processing for this one). I also like the playfullness of the composition. The camera was actually resting on the trunk, looking up. The branches point in all different directions, but it seems to fit well in the frame. I also like the play of filled versus empty spaces in the cells created by the branches. There's a not-quite-symmetrical thing going on.
